Information
There was a couple who took
a trip to England to shop in a beautiful antique store to celebrate their
25th wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially
teacups. Spotting an
exceptional cup, they asked
"May we see that? We've never seen a cup quite so beautiful."
As the lady handed it to
them, suddenly the teacup spoke, "You don't understand. I have not always
been a teacup. There was a time when I was just a lump of red clay. My
master took me and rolled me pounded and patted me over and over and I
yelled out, "Don't do that." "I don't like it!" "Let me alone," but he
only smiled, and gently said; "Not yet!!"
Then. WHAM! I was placed
on a spinning wheel and suddenly I was spun around and around and around.
"Stop it! I'm getting so dizzy! I'm going to be sick!", I screamed. But
the master only nodded and said, quietly; 'Not yet.' He spun me and poked
and prodded and bent me out of shape to suit himself and then...... Then
he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I yelled and knocked and
pounded at the door. "
Help! Get me out of here!"
I could see him through the
opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head from side to side,
'Not yet'.
"When I thought I couldn't
bear it another minute, the door opened. He carefully took me out and put
me on the shelf, and I began to cool. Oh, that felt so good! "Ah, this
is much better," I thought. But, after I cooled he picked me up and he
brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would
gag. 'Oh, please; Stop it, Stop it!! I cried. He only shook his head and
said. 'Not yet!'.
Then suddenly he put me back
in to the oven. Only it was not like the first one. This was twice as hot
and I just knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried.
I was convinced I would never make it. I was ready to give up. Just then
the door opened and he took me out and again placed me on the shelf, where
I cooled and waited ------- and waited, wondering "What's he going to do
to me next?"
An hour later he handed me
a mirror and said 'Look at yourself.' And I did. I said, 'That's not me;
that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful!"
Quietly he spoke: "I want
you to remember, then,' he said, 'I know it hurt to be rolled and pounded
and patted, but had I just left you alone, you'd have dried up. I know
it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you
would have crumbled. I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in
the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked.
I know the fumes were bad
when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you
never would have hardened. You would not have had any color in your life.
If I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't have survived
for long because the hardness would not
have held. Now you are a
finished product. Now you are what I had in mind when I first began with
you."
The moral of this story is
this: God knows what He's doing [ for each of us ]. He is the potter, and
we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, and expose us to just enough
pressures of just the right kinds that we may be made into a flawless piece
of work to fulfill His good, pleasing and perfect will.
So when life seems hard,
and you are being pounded and patted and pushed almost beyond endurance;
when your world seems to be spinning out of control; when you feel like
you are in a fiery furnace of trials; when life seems to "stink", try this....
Brew a cup of your favorite
tea in your prettiest tea cup, sit down and think on this story and then,
have a little talk with the Potter. |

is 1 year old. He has brought us so much joy and love, in this
1st year. He is, without a doubt, the smartest dog that I have known.
He has a toy box with 10 toys Jake knows each one by name and will
bring it to you, on command, with tail waging and a big smile . Hope
to visit you soon, so you can see what a great dog he is."

Pearl's Story
Pearl, daughter of Gus Gus...the
favored houseboy of Mrs. O'Poodles was bathing herself in the sun, one
fine day, when she caught the eye (and nose) of the incredibly handsome
and dashing Baron. He was soon smitten with the attractive Pearl's
winning ways and he arranged a secret rendevous with his new found love,
(approved and encouraged by Mrs. O'Poodles)...the results of their
love could not be hidden, their secret romance was discovered nine weeks
later, by all of Poodledom in O'Shannonville. Pearl was banished from the
township soon after..."You home wrecker!" Betsy's sisters proclaimed. We
are going to show you a thing or two, you hussy!
"Gosh!" said Mrs. O'Poodles. "I didn't
think that they would get so upset about it...I mean look at Betsy and
her affair with Baron's handsome brother, Alfie! What's UP with this attitude,
you girls?"
Unfortunately, Betsy...the Le Black
Sisters' pack leader, insisted that retribution be carried out by the two
other Le Black sisters...or else! (Betsy is a convincing and forceful delegator).
Poor Pearl! No peace could she find. She had to sleep with one eye open,
watching for the dutiful Le Black sisters, Missy and Bonnie, who were on
a mission...
to run Pearl out of town on a rail!
She was living a miserable, lonely
life...especially after Baron
returned to the Le Black Girls.
He would hardly even nod his head
in a polite hello, as he passed
Pearl's house. He tried it once and
suffered the consequences of Betsy's
wrath.

Pearl is ready to go and says
Goodbye to O'Shannonville |
Alas, arrangements were made by Mrs.
O'Poodles to slip her out
of town. She found herself in the
loving care of an individual human
who worked with other dogs. Dogs
who were being prepared for
VERY IMPORTANT WORK! Not just
mere dogs (poodles are rather disdainful of mere dogs, being in an elite
category themselves, somewhere between Dogs and Dolphins), but dogs in
training to
be EYES for the BLIND. Poodles were
being welcomed because of
their non-shedding hair...dogs,
of course have fur which sheds and causes much suffering to those unfortunate
humans who are allergic
to dog-fur. Poodle-hair is not even
close to dog-fur, another
distinction between mere dogs and
Poodles!
A brief reunion between father
and daughter...after the banishment!
Pearl gave birth to her nine Baron
babies, far from the wrath and spitefullness of the Le Black sisters.
All of the baby poodles, except
for one special white baby
girl...Lil Pearl, (picture below)
have gone to live in Puppy Raiser
homes for their first year and one
half, in preparation for
advanced training as future Guide
Dogs for the Blind.

Dear Grandma O'Poodles,
We wanted to send an update on Baby
Pepper. She was from one of Mama Blue and Gus-Gus's first litters,
when you still called these most wonderful dogs "Oopsadoodles". When
we got her she was so small and cute - just 18 pounds - we named her Baby
Pepper. Now that she's 18 months old she is around 85 pounds!
Now we just call her Pepper, or Peppy. She has always been just the
best tempered wonderful little soul! She loves kids and other dogs.
We have seen her work small miracles with non-socialized dogs - helping
them overcome thier stuffiness and become willing to play with her.
Her persistent, gentle requests to play just overwhelm thier fears and
they come around and begin to enjoy thier true playful doggy selves.
We've moved from Southern California
to Virginia Beach, Virginia. She made the 6 day drive across country
better than the human kids did! We discovered in California that
she has severe allergies that cause her to get ear and skin infections.
We had hoped that when we left California that we would leave the allergies
behind. No such luck, but we have begun allergy shots for her with
a very well respected animal dermatologist here in the area. The
shots seem to be working very well and she has been much healthier ever
since. Through it all she never grumbles, never fusses - just looks
at us with her beautiful eyes and seems to understand that it's because
we love her soooo much! We have decided that the best breed of dog
in the world is the Great LabraDoodle, or LabraDoodle Dane as you call
them.... : )
I've sent some pictures - before
and after beauty parlor shots - of this beautiful girl. We wish you
a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely, SB

Hi, thought I would send a couple
of pictures of Lily. She is the litter mate of Penny,
Felix, and Riley, etc. She was one of the last three to get adopted.
She was hiding on the porch under the bar-b-que when we chose her, it was
drizzling outside at the time. We really love her. She is very smart
and has more of the poodle personality. She is shy of people but getting
better. Thought I would send the pictures of her today of the before
and after her first professional bath and groom. She did quite well.
Although it was really shorter then we keep her. She is 58# and 23" tall.
Her playmate is our next door neighbors 150# Rodesion Ridgeback.
She keeps tabs on our 14 year old Springer Spaniel mix and goes and gets
her when I tell her to since CeCe is mostly deaf. She runs out and
brings me the morning paper too. Any way thought I would update you so
you could see another of the litter mates of Riley
and Felix. S M
